I've never used browser autofill tools, so I wasn't particularly interested in how well these features worked. Until recently...
But recently (in connection with working on a new project) I had to fill out hundreds of similar forms on various sites. Of course, doing this manually was somewhat inconvenient, so the question of automating the process naturally arose.
At first, I looked at special programs that are created for automatic (or semi-automatic) posting of news to sites, but even the best of them were "sharpened" only shopify website design for certain types of forms. And in my case, I needed a universal solution that would work equally well for all types of engines, forms and field name options.
Of course, a solution was found. And it turned out to be not a separate program, but, as often happens lately, a browser add-on.
Autofill is a small browser add-on that can be used to automatically fill in a wide variety of web page forms. With its help, filling in forms is done in the simplest and fastest way - when loading the page or using the context menu command. Today, there are versions of Autofill for Firefox and Chrome .
Autofill features:
— Automatic form filling if Autofill detects one or more fields that match the filling rules.
— Autofill fills simple text fields, passwords, hidden fields, and even fields containing a WYSIWYG editor . In addition, the add-on can automatically select the necessary items from drop-down lists and mark the necessary items in checkboxes.
— Assistant for creating autofill rules. You do not need to look at the source code to create form filling rules.
— Ability to create multiple profiles for better organization of filling rules.
— Regular expressions. Create field identification models.
— Ability to use variables to output random words, numbers, and letters.
— Site filtering. Ability to limit or prohibit form filling on some sites.
— Ability to transfer Autofill settings to another computer or between browsers.
— Hot keys.
The add-on interface is quite intuitive and easy to understand. There are three useful tabs in the Autofill settings (+ one with add-on information). In the first one, you can create, delete or edit profiles for different types of forms. For each form, you can set an unlimited number of fields of different types. You can use regular expressions:

In the second tab, the user can specify sites or documents in which the use of Autofill is prohibited:

In the third tab of the add-on settings, you can configure some of the features of its operation. Among the most useful options are setting the fill delay time, enabling rewriting of information in fields, an option to display password symbols, and tools for importing/exporting Autofill settings.

About disadvantages. For me, the main disadvantage of Autofill is that it is impossible to specify the path to the file to upload. Although, I don’t know - maybe it’s impossible . In any case, I have not seen such a function in any program…
Another problem is that the Autofill script fails to load on some websites. Maybe it's just me, maybe not. The solution is to add these websites to the list of blocked sites for autofill.
Be that as it may, Autofill can be recommended to anyone who needs advanced options for automatic filling of fields of various web forms. Its wide capabilities allow you to configure a wide variety of filling options, and support for regular expressions makes these settings almost universal.
